PUMPKIN DESSERT

  • Pumpkin 2 Kilograms
  • Walnut Kernels 250 Grams
  • Powdered Sugar 750 Grams
  • Coconut 5-6 Teaspoons
  • Pine Nuts 5-6 Teaspoons

The pumpkins are cut into pieces 2-3 cm. thick and 7-8 cm. wide, their skins are peeled, they are washed and then placed in a pot. One layer of pumpkin, one layer of sugar is arranged. It is left to rest like this overnight so the pumpkin releases its own water. With the water it releases, it is boiled with the lid closed until the pumpkins soften. Then, with the lid of the pot open, it is boiled until the water is absorbed. While hot, they are arranged on a tray and cooked in the oven for a while. Once cooled, walnuts and pine nuts are sprinkled on top, and it can also be decorated with coconut.

After lightly boiling your pumpkin in a pot, it is possible and very healthy to use it like a pot. For this, a small pumpkin is needed, it's called hokaido pumpkin, I don't know its Turkish name. Making rice or meat dishes inside is decorative and healthy.

Pumpkin Soup for Little Ones

Pumpkin soup can also be made by mixing it with pate. It's healthy with zinc, vitamin A, beta-carotene, and vitamin E. After the pumpkin is boiled, it is mashed and made into soup with broth. Ginger goes well as a spice. You can decorate it as you wish.

The fleshy part inside the pumpkin is cooked with sugar and 1 cup of apple juice - made into puree and used for decoration. The amount of sugar, 1 cup, can be reduced according to preference. It is decorated with walnuts, pine nuts, and fruit peels, decorative and healthy.
