Your ankle, your toes, the palm of your hand... They all signify something... Research conducted by the King's College Hospital Institute of Gerontology in London revealed that our bodies give us a total of 16 clues that could save our lives. Prof. Dr. Robert Wale, who has signed many studies on healthy living and conducts his research at the King's College Hospital Institute of Gerontology (the science of aging) in London, says, "Even just the length of your fingers actually allows us to obtain significant information about your health. You too can protect your health by paying attention to important details about your body," and provides the most important clues about your health.

  1. Nails: A slight bluish or purplish tint on your nails could mean you are facing heart disease. If your nails are excessively thick or have ridges on them, it could indicate a lung problem.
  2. Count your breaths: If you breathe in and out 15 times or less per minute, it means you have healthy lungs. If you breathe 25 times, you should pay attention to your health.
  3. Eyes: Look at one of your eyes in the mirror. If there is a white circle around the iris, it means your cholesterol level is high. This is also the biggest indicator of impending heart problems.
  4. Look at your palm: If your palms are red and blotchy, it means there is a problem with your liver.
  5. Memory check: Place 10 random objects on a tray. How many could you remember? Having a good memory means you have a lower risk of Alzheimer's.
  6. Muscle check: Lie on your back. Keep your legs straight. Lift one leg into the air. Ask someone to press down on your foot. If your leg falls to the ground, it means there is a weakness in your muscles.
  7. Vision: Place a ruler just under your eye, on your cheekbone. Then place a credit card on the ruler, measure the distance at which you can read the card most comfortably. If you can read the card comfortably no matter how close it gets, it's a good sign.
  8. Thyroid?: Extend your arms parallel to the ground, as if reaching for something in front of you. If your hands are shaking, your risk of having a thyroid issue is high.
  9. Walking straight: Draw a one-meter line on the ground. If you can walk on it comfortably, it means your body's coordination is working well.
  10. Your birth weight: If you were born under 3 kilograms, you may face heart problems.
  11. Is your waist thick?: If your fat accumulates around your waist, your risk of experiencing heart problems is higher.
  12. Frequency of urination: Do you feel a strong need to go to the toilet every 3 hours? You might have diabetes.
  13. Pulse check: The slower your pulse beats, the longer you will live. If it's below 70, it means you are healthy.
  14. Brush your teeth: If your gums bleed, your heart is in danger.
  15. Finger length: People whose index and ring fingers are the same length have a higher risk of having a heart attack.
  16. Ankles: If pressing the back of your ankle with your thumb creates a significant indentation, you may have heart, lung, or kidney problems.
