Natural methods and things you can do at home for colds and flu.
Beneficial Herbs and Teas
Teas prepared with licorice root, linden, sage, horehound, rosehip, cornelian cherry, clove, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, galangal, mallow, chamomile, rosemary, black pepper, and olive leaf alleviate symptoms. The best medicine is rest — if you take medicine for the flu, it goes away in 1 week; if you don't, it goes away in 7 days.
Which Fruits Are Beneficial?
All fruits strengthen the immune system with the vitamins and antioxidants they contain. Pear stops a runny nose, green grapes calm you down, kiwi, orange, pomegranate, rosehip, and mandarin contain high amounts of Vitamin C. It is essential to eat a balanced diet with seasonal foods and consume plenty of fluids.
Ambient Air
Heaters dry out the air in the environment. Placing a glass of water with 4-5 drops of laurel oil or its leaves on the heater cleans and humidifies the air. Windows should be opened and the environment ventilated twice a day, in the morning and afternoon.
Instead of nasal sprays, dissolving half a teaspoon of sea salt in a glass of boiled, cooled water and drawing it from the nostrils into the sinuses helps open blocked sinuses.
Chamomile Eucalyptus Steam
For this method, also used in doctors' offices, pour boiling water into a wide bowl, add a handful of dried chamomile and 7-8 drops of eucalyptus oil. Bend your head over the bowl, cover it with a towel, and inhale the steam for 5 minutes. It causes excessive sweating; change your clothes, dress warmly, and rest. Afterwards, drink chamomile tea with lemon and honey. Apply again before going to bed at night.
For Cough
Cutting an onion into quarters and placing it in a child's or patient's room stops cough. To soothe a cough, bend your left elbow and grasp it with your right hand, press your right thumb firmly for 1 minute. Repeat for the other arm; do all movements three times each.
For Lungs
To prevent phlegm formation, drink one teaspoon of black seed oil three times a day (those with stomach issues should take it 5 minutes before meals). To soften the chest, sprinkle black pepper between cotton, moisten it with cologne, and place it on the lungs half an hour before bedtime. Eucalyptus or chamomile oil can be applied to the chest.
Salt Water Bath
Throw a handful of sea salt into the bathtub, stay in the salt water for 15 minutes. Salt water expels bad energy and relaxes; it is especially important for the soles of the feet to contact the salt water. If there's no time, it can also be done just for the feet in a basin.
Beneficial Mixtures
Clove: Both increases energy and kills germs. Can be drunk as tea or chewed; suitable for morning use.
Honey-black seed mixture: Mix one teaspoon of black seed and one dessert spoon of honey, chew and swallow. Helps with sore throat and breaking down germs, gives the body resistance.
Chamomile tea mixture: Boil green apple peel and seeds in one glass of cold water, after two minutes add a pinch of chamomile, boil for one more minute. Add half a lemon's juice and one dessert spoon of honey and drink.
Mint-lemon-honey-tea mixture also provides a revitalizing and immune-strengthening effect.
