Environmental Measures

  • Allergens that cause asthma and allergic disorders should be removed from the environment.
  • Interior plastering and painting of homes should be done with lead-free, water-based paints.
  • Fragrance chemicals should not be used.
  • Cheap toys made in China may contain lead; lead causes asthma, attention deficit, IQ loss, and hyperactivity.
  • Foods with additives and processed foods should not be consumed.
  • Indoor air should be refreshed during midday hours when exhaust fumes are low.
  • Personal allergies should be closely monitored.
  • Lipsticks may contain lead. Test method: apply a little lipstick to the back of the hand, then rub 18-24 karat gold over it; if the color darkens, it contains lead.
  • Hair dyes contain highly toxic substances; organic dye should be preferred as much as possible, otherwise, their use should be limited.
  • Dust mites (mites) like damp and warm environments; do not keep the house too hot and humid, and steam cleaning should not be applied.
  • Mold forms in washing machines and detergents can cause allergies; an extra rinse cycle should be used.
  • In the room of an asthma patient, 5-6 bay leaves should be kept in a glass of water year-round; it cleans and humidifies the air.

Nutritional Recommendations

Gut health is very important; bowel motility should be achieved naturally with foods like dried plums and figs. Dieting should be done with balanced nutrition and exercise, not with herbs.

Pear is considered one of the best medicines for asthma. Black radish juice should be drunk for asthma and allergies without adding honey; especially flower honey should be avoided. Russians and Germans use black radish intensively for asthma.

Antioxidants are beneficial in asthma. One shark liver oil capsule per day and a glass of freshly squeezed citrus juice alleviate allergies. Olive leaf and its extract are among the recommended ones due to their antioxidant properties, high vitamin C content, and germicidal structure.

Beneficial foods and plants for asthma and allergies:

  • Fruits and vegetables: Pineapple, spinach, artichoke, broccoli, blueberry, pumpkin, rosehip, pomegranate, carrot, tomato, grape, avocado, citrus fruits, potato, peas, cabbage, onion
  • Grains and spices: Brown rice, ginger, garlic, dill, parsley, turmeric, pennyroyal, cinnamon
  • Herbal: Licorice sherbet, poppy, hops, wild lettuce, hawthorn flower (reduces itching), mulberry, grape seed, green tea, dandelion root and stems (cleanses blood, strengthens liver)

Cabbage and onion are beneficial due to their detoxifying properties; if their juice is to be used as a cure, it should be obtained by boiling in cold water.

Goat's milk is a milk known not to cause allergic reactions. If fresh goat's milk is hard to find, goat cheese (hard, aged) can be soaked in water overnight to remove its salt and then used. It is also suitable for babies over 6 months and those on a salt-free diet.

I definitely recommend reading the "Preparation of Herbal Remedies" article before using carob and anise plants for asthma and allergies; if prepared incorrectly, they can cause harm instead of benefit.

Due to its sweat-reducing property, excessive internal use of sage is not recommended; it is advised to be used as a gargle or added to bath water.

You need to perform your personal allergy test for foods like cinnamon, melon, orange, tomato, and peanuts.

Although black seed oil is recommended for asthma, it should be used with caution. As it dissolves in the intestine, it can cause gas problems while remaining in the stomach. It is not recommended between meals for those with weight problems.

Exercise and Breathing Exercises

The biggest problem of an asthma patient is the inability to exhale. Swimming is ideal for expanding lung capacity; however, since asthma may increase due to chlorine in pools, open water or the sea should be preferred. Blowing up balloons is very beneficial for lung health; however, thin and long balloons can cause eardrum rupture. After taking a deep breath, an exhalation exercise of at least 15 seconds should be performed.

Russian doctor Konstantin Rubeyko reportedly treated asthma with breathing exercises. According to the method, take a deep breath and hold it for 15 seconds, then exhale slowly within 15 seconds; this process is repeated twice a day, in the morning and evening. Over time, it is reported that asthma complaints decrease.
