The chemical substances used in toothpastes and soaps pose a serious risk for expectant mothers.
According to research conducted at the University of Florida, the substance triclosan, found in many famous toothpaste brands and soaps also sold in Turkey, harms the baby in the womb. According to Professor Margaret James's statements, this substance, also found in wet wipes, can prevent the baby in the womb from receiving sufficient oxygen, causing damage to the babies' brains.
Previous research had also determined that triclosan causes liver damage in laboratory animals. Pregnant women are advised to carefully examine the ingredient labels of the toothpastes and soaps they purchase.
