Yogurt herb is a powerful herbal tea known for its medicinal effects against Parkinson's, epilepsy, hand and foot tremors, cancer, and kidney and bladder disorders. With the increase in cancer diseases, this plant has gained great importance.

Description of the Plant

The yogurt herb plant has different varieties. Climbing yogurt herb (Galium aparine L.) grows abundantly in fields, meadows, along fences, and among bushes; farmers know it as a weed. The plant, which is 60-160 cm tall, has leaves arranged in whorls, long-stemmed green-white flower umbels, and can easily climb with the help of the hairs on its stem. It is also locally known as sticky weed, shepherd's comb, circumcision herb, and goose herb.

Yellow-flowered yogurt herb (Galium verum L.) is a rare species that begins to darken a few months after drying. Climbing yogurt herb, however, is found practically everywhere and can be used for two years after drying. In the April-May period, while still tender, the entire above-ground part of the plant (excluding yellowed leaves) is collected; it is hung in a shady and airy place to dry. After drying, it is finely chopped and allowed to dry for another 2-3 days, then stored in airtight containers. It contains iridoids (asperuloside), polyphenol acids, flavones, and tannins.

Benefits

Yogurt herb tea cleanses the kidneys, liver, and spleen of disease-causing substances. In lymphatic system diseases, including lymphoma, no matter how severe the illness, 3-5 cups can be drunk daily.

When used internally as tea and externally as a compress/wash, it heals skin diseases, wounds, and boils very quickly. When the face is washed with this warm tea, sagging, droopy, and wrinkled skin temporarily tightens. The juice obtained by squeezing the plant can also be applied to the affected skin daily.

It is very beneficial for epilepsy, hysteria, Parkinson's disease, nervous disorders, and hand tremors. It is also recommended for kidney sluggishness, increased uric acid, urinary retention, and gravel and stone disorders. Even if a goiter is very enlarged, it can shrink significantly as a result of a 4-6 week course of persistent deep gargles throughout the day with occasional swallowed sips. For hoarseness, gargling with the tea also shows a corrective effect in a short time. Particular attention should be paid to the freshness of the plant to be used, especially in severe illnesses; the young shoots of yogurt herb can be found even in winter, under snow.

Triple Tea Blend for Kidney and Bladder Disorders

Yogurt herb becomes much more effective against all kinds of severe kidney and bladder disorders, kidney shrinkage, and kidney inflammation when used together with nettle and dandelion.

Mix the three plants in equal proportions. Steep one teaspoonful of this herb mixture in a medium-sized cup of boiling water for 10 minutes, strain, and drink 2-4 cups throughout the day.

How to Prepare the Tea?

Steep one teaspoonful of the herb mixture (approximately 3g) in a medium-sized cup of boiling hot water; strain after 10 minutes. It can be drunk in the amounts and ways specified above for various illnesses, or used for compresses and gargles. Generally, it is recommended to drink 2-4 cups of freshly brewed tea daily without letting it cool.
