Some sources contain information that leads to misunderstandings about orange aventurine: it is said that there are two types of orange aventurine, one belonging to the quartz group and the other to the feldspar group. However, the feldspar one is sunstone, which is a completely different stone from aventurine. Aventurine is a quartz and the chemical formula of all its colors is SiO₂. The chemical formula of sunstone, on the other hand, is different: (Na,Ca)(Si,Al)₄O₈. Therefore, confusing these two stones can only be the case for someone who is just beginning to learn about stones.
